These 3 Stocks Are As Dependable As Bonds
Recently, I opined on these pages about the future of interest rates and the logic (or lack thereof) behind owning actual bonds. I also touched on the idea of owning bond surrogates such as stocks of companies in particular sectors that are known for throwing off consistent income. The stocks I’m about to cover aren’t in that category. The only resemblance to bonds is that the stocks have performed consistently over many decades due to the fact that the underlying companies are mega franchises with deep moats and long, solid, predictable operating histories.
